She comes to me
broken open
ancient lies of the Enemy unfurl.
As she speaks,
deceptions tangle and twist
squeezing her soul even tighter,
unwilling to release their hold.
The Master Deceiver has done his worst,
and she has believed him.
She knows the Truth that will set her free
and yet struggles to believe it includes her.
As a "Pretty Woman" once said, ' the lies are much easier to believe'.
Especially when pouring forth from the one who vowed to love and protect.
Numbed anguish spills over as she confides her longing
to carve the lines into her skin
and watch the red run down ~
taking with it pain too deep to express,
a wound so vast she fears it would
swallow all.
I withhold my horror and I touch her, hug her, cry for her.
and I speak Truth...
~you and your children are not a burden
~you are loved with an Everlasting Love
~Jesus knows your pain
~He saves those that are crushed in spirit
~He will bind up your wounds
~Jesus knows your shame, and you don't own it
anymore He paid the price. All has been and
remains nailed to the cross
~your needs are never too much for Him
~He longs to spend time with you
~He will never abandon you
~Nothing is more important than His love for you
~He will protect and defend you
~He is your Rock and your Hiding Place
~He will hold you in tenderness
~He will turn your mourning into dancing
~your tears matter to Him
~He sees you... you are not invisible to Him
I look into her eyes and wonder...
will she believe? Will she allow the Truth to release the shackles, replace her sackcloth with joy, repair the soul-wounds left behind by enemy's deception?
I don't know if she will let Freedom in ~ the bondage so familiar
she has tried many times before.
I pray for her~
that she would believe Truth,
and fly free.
